Ignite Seattle | How a Punching Bag Saved My LifeParenting Advice from a Group Home Kid
I get a rush of energy before speaking and I love it. I challenged myself to be vulnerable in order to help parents become aware of simple, yet important skills based on my own journey through the group home system in the 80s. The importance of helping children feel their feelings, and knowing it's okay to do so inspired this talk. In my professional life, whether it's training a course, presenting on a topic, or leading an event, I'm always ready to go.

As part of film production, training, coaching, and various learning projects, I've used my voice to tell stories, offer direction, or simply explain how to succeed as a participant. The more creative work of voice over has allowed me to create stories such as the audio story, "The Elves & The Shoemaker" by the Brothers Grimm. Not only did I create the soundscape, I crafted voices for characters and worked to bring an entire world to life in just a few minutes. The most heartwarming feedback came from a friend with two young children. She said her kiddos listened to the story more than a dozen times over the weekend, and laughed along every time.
