What is film?
Film is the clumsy attempt to translate all that one's eyes can see into something one can share with others. To create something beautiful in film you have to control outcomes without leaving the impression anything was controlled at all. In film you paint with a lens that lacks the ability to see what the human eye can see. With every pan, tilt, and zoom you attempt to deny the laws of physics in pursuit of a pure image, an honest projection of your mind's eye onto a flat canvas from a world of multiple dimensions. Film is a test of imagination and a test of innovation through technical skills that must remain hidden for the creation to come to life in a manner that others will believe, trust and perhaps, come to love.
